On Monday, January 8, 2024, COMMAN-YA took part in a public-private workshop focused on the creation of an innovative financing instrument: the Inclusive Bond.
This disruptive financial tool aims to bridge two worlds long considered irreconcilable: the stock market and the informal sector.
The Inclusive Bond consists of a bond issue specifically designed for very small businesses (VSBs) and actors in the informal sector. This unprecedented mechanism could reduce inequalities in access to financing and promote economic inclusion.
Comman-ya was present alongside several women entrepreneurs "La Passion des Voyages, Les Farines Jasmate, and L’Artisane" to ensure that this financial product takes into account the realities on the ground and the specific needs of local women entrepreneurs.
This workshop was organized by Finafrique, the UN Economic Commission for Africa, and Canada through IDRC/CRDI.
This marks another step toward better integrating the informal sector into Africa’s financing landscape.
