A few days ago, COMMAN-YA had the immense honor of welcoming Her Majesty the Queen of the Belgians 👑🇧🇪.

This visit was part of her commitment to women’s rights and economic empowerment, with a particular focus on the reality of women’s entrepreneurship in Côte d’Ivoire.

The Queen wanted to gain a concrete understanding of the challenges faced by Ivorian women entrepreneurs and the solutions put in place to support them. On this occasion, six women entrepreneurs supported by COMMAN-YA presented their projects, their successes, and the obstacles they’ve faced :

  • Des Biscuits et des Mots

  • La Mielleuse

  • Laorana Delicatessen

  • Les NEEMeries

  • Brody’s CI

  • L’Art-Tisane

These discussions highlighted the creativity, resilience, and determination of Ivorian women who, despite numerous challenges (funding, market access, recognition), are succeeding in building businesses that generate social and economic impact. The Queen of the Belgians expressed her admiration for these initiatives and her support for COMMAN-YA’s efforts to promote women’s empowerment in West Africa.

We extend our warmest thanks to H.E. Carole van Eyll, Belgian Ambassador to Abidjan, as well as the Belgian Embassy, ENABEL, and the Belgian and Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce in Côte d’Ivoire (BELUCI) for their trust and commitment to gender equality.

At Comman-ya, we work every day to empower women, so that their rights are respected and their talents are valued. This royal meeting will remain a milestone in our mission to support women entrepreneurs toward a more just and inclusive future.
